Entry for August 6, 2006: Friends and Brothers

You meet him, a stranger, in a place far from home,

Both of you lonely yet never alone.

First aquainted, then friends, finally brotherhood grows.

Deep. Deep in your soul where only another would know.

Birthed from the stresses of violent strife,

Where two become one in their battle for life.

In jungles or deserts; mountains and towns,

Closeness only brothers share when blood flows down.

Down, down, down on the ground, wasted it seems to you and to me.

But is it, we ask in the long drawn scheme?

For out of this pain and from the violent brings,

Brothers are born to form a lasting ring.

John 15:13, Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his brother.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Two are better than one; because they have good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls; for he has no one to help him up.
